The 2008 Way Home Stand Down and Access Fair: 
a Project Homeless Connect Event

When:  Saturday, September 20, 2008 -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: St. Paul's United Methodist Church
               On the corner of Cruse and Lawrence



"Before The Way Home, I didn't know how to help people who are homeless in Helena. It was easier to look away. But volunteering for the Way Home, I helped reach 139 people who were homeless in our town...in just one day." - a Way Home 2007 Volunteer

The Way Home means...

- More than 20 helping agencies together in a one-stop setting 
- Homemade meals, prepared by the Moms' Clubs of Helena
- Haircuts, showers and hygiene kits
- Live music and entertainment
- Nurses and/or a doctor on-site
- Giveaways (including warm-weather gear, blankets and food)
- A chance to get back on your feet
- An opportunity to meet the neighbors who care

What you can do to help:

Donate: Make a tax-deductible donation to the event (Checks to The Way Home c/o Rocky Mountain Development Council, Inc. - Box 1717 - Helena, MT 59624)

Volunteer - Please help! We need well over 100 volunteers.


Bring items to our drop-off centers - the City/County Building, the Dancing Lotus Center and the Downtown Post Office [
Items needed: clean, gently used cold weather gear including coats and sleeping bags good to 20* below zero; NEW wool socks; hats; gloves or mittens; heavy duty back packs; long johns; blankets.]
